Wednesday, July 10 Boise River Float
Author Last Post

Matt, be sure to remind people of the event...

Cross-posted from the MTB forum.

With Brian out of town and temperatures predicted in the triple-digits, the Wednesday Night MTB ride will be cancelled for Wed July 10. BUT LET'S REPLACE IT WITH A WEDNESDAY NIGHT RIVER FLOAT!

I have a 15' raft that seats 12 easily (I've done more!), I have a 15 passenger van to park at the bottom. Here's what I'm thinking.

Free parking here https://www.google.com/maps/place/Spring+Creek+Clubhouse/@43.5707825,-116.1209014,17.25z/data=!4m6!3m5!1s0x54aef7001e9913dd:0xcdcc005e4f9d1446!8m2!3d43.5702022!4d-116.118567!16s%2Fg%2F11vxg_v58p?entry=ttu

at the clubhouse in my community, 1 mile from the Barber Park launch point. Meet at 6 pm (normal ride time)

Launch from barber park at 6:15. ($7 parking fee cash only at Barber Park)

I will have a 12 passenger raft inflated at the barber launch point. Of course you're welcome to bring your own tube/raft/kayak/inflatable mattress -- this is the Boise Float. (at some point even the mega-van fills up, so let me know if you are bringing your own and need me to haul it). After pull-out, we cross the bridge to Payette Brewery for an after-the-float beverage and a shuttle-ride in the van (which will be conveniently parked out behind the Brewery) back to the top and your cars.

If you want to shuttle in the /opposite/ direction (i.e. leave your car at the bottom and drive up) you will need to meet us at Payette about 5:15. (Again, let me know so that we're looking for you) (https://www.google.com/maps/place/Payette+Brewing+Company/@43.613577,-116.2152695,17.25z/data=!4m6!3m5!1s0x54aef8bbc74e716f:0x506a251e77a0c12!8m2!3d43.6135635!4d-116.2152023!16s%2Fg%2F1tdjqw7v?entry=ttu)

Failing that, you could take the Boise Rafting company shuttles up to the top -- I believe this year it is $4/person to ride their shuttle.

All the standard disclaimers apply. We wear helmets when biking, and it is Idaho Law that PFDs be /available/. Bring something to drink on the river -- even on the water it gets hot and thirsty.

The Boise River Float is a tradition and it is open to everyone, but I'd like to keep the shuttling to club members and their family -- I only have so many spots!
